What you need is a pack of raw shelled peanuts and some oil to fry them in.
The hard thing about frying peanuts is that to get the timing right. Here are a few things to look for:
- The color should not get too dark
- No smoke should come out
- Hot peanuts are soft. So do not look for crunchiness. But you can taste them.
- Season you peanuts when they are done. I like salt, but chili powder and garlic are fine too.
Other than that it is simple process get the oil warm (to about 180 Celsius) and put them in. I use a shallow pan and gently move them around during the frying. When you are done take them out and put on a paper towel to dry off excessive oil. Now you can season them. Let them cool down before eating.
